Children with Disabilities

There are over 600 million disabled people in the world. A large number of which get little opportunity to play sport. At Soccer Made Simple USA we are determined to give every child the opportunities to play and enjoy sport and exercise.

Sport increases a persons self esteem, social interactions and body co-ordination while promoting healthy living. Dr. William J. Schiller, Associate Director and Technology Co-ordinator for the National Centre of Physical Activity and Disability, is currently educating teachers, parents and disabled individuals, about the benefits of sports and recreational activities. One of the services provided by NCPAD is to alert parents to recreational programs in their area. "The focus is trying to reduce secondary health problems: obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, depression. (Exercise) promotes flexibility, motor control, social relationships, and reduces the need for medications. The body needs a certain amount of activity to function optimally," says Schiller.

At Soccer Made Simple USA safety always comes first, and our coaching techniques are essential in any sport for the disabled. We generally use 'adaptive' techniques to allow the children to enjoy and feel safe throughout the sport and fitness sessions.
